The Salt Roads are the ancient trade routes that in the past stretched along the Apennine Mountains, from the Po Valley and the hilly areas of northern Italy all the way to the Ligurian coast. These roads were used by the merchants to transport the goods towards the sea and get the salt which was difficult to find in the northern regions far from the sea.<\/p>\n
